Case 1-What’s your diagnosis?

This crow had been on the ground for several days. When he was brought to us, he was alert but very thin. He kept his neck bent down towards the ground and his head upside down when he was not asking for food. He did not have any signs of trauma, and his nervous system appeared to be functioning normally. He appeared weak. Upon close examination, it was noted that the crow had crusty lesions on the beak.

Begging for food

You can tell this is a young crow because the eyes are blue.

Look closely at the beak

The crusts on the head are a clue.

He likes to keep his head down

The medical term for this is flaccid, cervical , ventroflexion
